Giving Beekeeping Guidance by cOmputatiOnal-assisted Decision making
BEEP platform development is presented at the 4th Bee and Hive Monitoring Conference
Marten Schoonman of the BEEP Foundation participated in the 4th International Bee and Hive Monitoring Conference that took place online on 5-9 October 2020. Marten’s presentation was titled "Open Source Monitoring Platform BEEP Development in B-GOOD Project" and it consisted of a pre-recorded video and following Q&A section.
Marten presented the innovative hive monitoring mechanism developed within B-GOOD and outlined the features of the BEEP base and the BEEP app. He introduced the possibilities that BEEP offers to beekeepers for optimization of monitoring such as tracking changes in hive weight and temperature. Features of BEEP, such as the BEEP app alarm, were highlighted as innovations in the monitoring and surveillance of hives that would help beehive management.
The 4th International Bee and Hive Monitoring Conference was directed towards professional beekeepers and beekeeping practitioners. It stressed on presenting different technologies and tools for beehive monitoring and management.
